Stupid hair…

My hair is currently driving me insane. I’ve had a sidecut (right side of head long-ish, left side buzz cut) for quite a while, but now I have some ideas for other haircuts I want to try and thus I’ve decided to grow it out. Sounds simple, but no.

Apparently my hair grows straight out from the skin – and I mean straight out, like an agitated hedgehog. And it refuse to lay down. No amounts of wax, spray or gel can tame it. It. Stands. Up.

Seriously..? It looks like I tried to cut my own hair like some 3 year old!

Now, do I:

a.) Buy a hat and wear it 24/7 for the next couple of months until it gets long enough?
b.) Cut my whole head and start from scratch? I’d still look like a bloody hedgehog – but at least I’d be a whole hedgehog.
c.) Accept my fate and just carry on as usual, hoping noone calls the psychic ward? Or Tabatha Coffey.

I hate getting trolled by my own body parts…

Personally, I would just let it go. If people ask then tell them that you are growing it out.

BTW: I just adore your Dead Dog in Flicker, he is so funny there.

I would just carry on as usual. You could maybe use it as an excuse to buy a couple of cute hats and wear them every now and then. ;) I wouldn’t worry about it much, though. I think it’s pretty obvious that you’re growing it out.

I don’t think it looks that bad :) Hopefully it’ll grow out enough to lay flat soon! I wonder if you can pin it down in the mean time with bobby pins?

Yikes, that’s pretty unusual. If you’re going to grow it out though, I’d just leave it. It can’t grow straight forever, that would be a nightmare! But I know the feeling of wanting longer hair (no matter how short your hair is) and it’s a big waiting game but it’ll be worth it in the end. I had an awesome asymmetrical haircut once, which was a bit buzz-cut at the back with tails and a fringe at the front, and when it grew it out it was just horrible. But it gets better, I promise! :)

I think my hair must do the same thing. I always have some at the top of my head that just wants to stand straight out. So I usually pull out that single hair. But in your case you want to keep your hairs haha. So maybe you could wear a head band or something to make it look better?

Oh! I love side cuts so much!! unfortunately I can’t get one since I have curly hair (and I straighten it) and it would grow out awkward. I think it looks kind of cool when it grows out STRAIGHT out of your skin. Maybe you can dye our hair in some interesting color (if people at work would not mind..) and let it just grow.. or keep the side cut.

Don’t worry about wearing a hat. Your hair will grow out enough where it will fall flat. Best of luck! :)
