Business in Stockholm

Whatever it was that Markus got I got it too  I spent pretty much all of last week curled up on the couch under a mountain of cough drops, nose drops and kleenex. I’m still not 100% well, but at least I don’t have a fever any more. Yay for that I guess *sneezes*

But I’m glad it hit me last week and not now because tomorrow I’m going to Stockholm!

A project I’ve been involved with is nominated for an award so me and my boss are going down there to attend the event. Apparently it’s a whole day of seminars and exhibitions and in the evening there will be dinner and drinks for everyone. I’m really excited! I don’t really expect us to win since the competition is stiff to say the least, but it’s cool enough to be nominated and in the final round :D Guess I’ve done something right, hehe.

I just hope my sinuses doesn’t hurt too much on the plane, I’ve heard it can be a pain to fly when you have a cold. I have some extra strong nose drops to use right before take-off though so I hope that helps.

Anyway, it’s 8 o’clock here right now and I’m gonna go pack some stuff and charge the camera battery… wish me luck tomorrow! :D

EDIT Oct 19
I’m back now and while we didn’t win our category (like I expected) we did get a honorary award! After the regular prizes had been given out we thought it was all finished but then the moderator remained on stage and said that they wanted to give a special price to a special project that the judges had found to good to let it pass by unnoticed :yay: Gotta go home now and get some sleep. But YAY!

Here are some photos from the event :)

Geeky birthday gifts

Yesterday was Markus’ 24th birthday! He didn’t have a very good birthday though – it started with a dentist appointment and a cold so he wasn’t all that happy. Me and a friend took him out for lunch but because of his sore throat he could only eat a bowl of soup. Doesn’t help that he’s a man either… we all know men get when they get sick, don’t we? ;) Poor thing.

Anyway, I’ll take him out to celebrate when he feels better…
Now I want to show you two of his presents:

It’s a Saitek Cyborg gaming keyboard + a Saitek Cyborg R.A.T. 7 gaming mouse.
The keyboard has some cool backlights in different colours and lots of extra buttons to use for custom functions and macros. The mouse is 100% customizable, you can program the buttons, change the shape with different bits and pieces and you can even control its weight.

I’m not much of a gamer, or at least I don’t play many games that requires special macros and such, so I haven’t tried the special button functions. I like the look of it all though. The mouse is my favourite – I’m almost afraid to touch it (it looks ferocious, like it might bite) but I love how heavy I can make it and the various ergonomic support pads make it really easy to handle. Despite its appearance it fits the hand perfectly!

Markus says he loves both of them :) They are pretty cool, non?

Of course we have the Swedish keyboard version

Also, we had cake. I made it. Inside it’s filled with chocolate :P

Etsy findings: Fable and Fury

I have to show you this amazing necklace I bought from Etsy! Of course I’ve known about Etsy for years – but I’ve never really took the time to get in there and start browsing. Until now. This is the first time I’ve ever bought anything from there, but probably not the last ;)

I was just looking around at random when my eyes fell upon this:

How beautiful is that!? It was love at first sight, I tell you. It came beautifully wrapped too :)
Below is what it looks like on.

The shop is called Fable and Fury and has all sorts of stainless steel jewellery, all with the same unique feel and lots of original designs. The jewellery may look very thin and delicate but when you hold it is surprisingly sturdy. It really is solid steel and doesn’t feel fragile at all! At least my necklace doesn’t ^_^
Shipping was super fast too. I can very much recommend this shop.

A day in the woods

It’s been raining for days here. The whole week has been soaking wet and while I don’t really mind rain that much it does make it rather difficult to go out in the forest. Everything gets so muddy and slippery… But today was nice and sunny, so I grabbed the dog AND the camera and headed out :D

The Singing Valley (yes, its actual name) or at least part of it. I live on the other side.
